Y axis moment not recognized

Hi Everyone,

I just ran into a problem I haven’t experienced before. I turned my Elite WW X50 on and homed it. I then jogged the spindle and probed the piece to carve like I always do.

When I tapped Start Cycle, the spindle went to the corner that it was probed on, and spun up to speed. It then moved toward the front of the spoilboard and stalled by bottoming out on the Y axis. I Estopped it and started over. It did the same thing. I powered the unit off, but it again stalled out on the Y axis.

When I tried one more time, I noticed that the screen shows the white crosshair X axis movement, but shows the Y stationary at the homing position (top left corner of the spoil board. The screen also shows X, Y, and Z numbers change, but the white crosshair stays in the same Y position.

I can’t run any carves with this problem. Any suggestions how to correct it?

Thanks!

Is the Y axis actually moving?

Yes. It moves as normal and the values on the screen change, but the white crosshair stays at the top of the screen in the Y home position. The crosshair does move left and right, though.

Ok. Just throwing out ideas. Maybe check and wiggle the connectors

I disconnected and reconnected all the cable/wires. I still get the same problem.
