Machine: Onefinity Elite with MASSO
Problem: After homing, when attempting to jog the X over to my work piece, the left Y motor will move and cause a motor error (the right side does not move). I can re-home with no issues and when I swap the Y and B cables to troubleshoot the problem does move over ot the B motor (right side). The problem occurs even at low motor speed and even when doing incremental jogs as well as continuous.
Symptoms:
-
Machine homes correctly
-
Y jogging works correctly
-
During X jogging, Left Y gantry side physically moves independently and causes a motor error
-
MASSO Y DRO does not change during the fault
-
Swapping the Y and B motor cables causes the problem to move to the opposite gantry side
Troubleshooting already performed:
-
Reseated all cables
-
Cleaned controller
-
Verified homing operation
-
Swapped Y/B motor cables to isolate issue
Based on the issue switching to the B motor after I do a cable swap at the masso, I am assuming I have a bad cable. After inspecting the Y cable there does not appear to be any pin issues nor do I see any crimping along the wires. Before I purchase an entire set of replacement cables just to swap out this Y cable (i do not see option to buy single cable) does anyone have any other suggestions I try before I hit “purchase”? I am really enjoying this hobby and hate the downtime.
