Y motor Failures.... Jerking and Stopped moving

Ok, I am getting so frustrated with this machine! 5k and its Error after error!! Bout ready to box it up and take it to the dump!

Everything was working just fine.. All the movement in the x y z directions was nice and smooth. Today I finally got my spoil board all installed and flattened.. Now the y motors are all messed up. Left side moves faster than the right and so it jogs the x rail from side to side.. Or should I say walks it.. Left then right then left then right and then errors out and stops. I have to reset the whole machine to get it to move again. What the heck is going on!!! Everything was moving around just find during setup.. Homed Just fine, went to park ok.. But now after running an actual process on it.. Its all jacked up.. It makes a horrible Vibration when moving in the y Plus direction as well. I thought maybe the ball screws were dirty from all the MDF dust.. But it looks clean.. I dont know..

Right side will move and then the left side doesnt.. And then it will jerk the left side and catchup with the right Y rail. Its Horrible in the y+ movement. It moves better as you bring it to the front of the machine.. but then it starts to stick again or something. And then errors out. I cant find anywhere to view the ACTUAL error!! It just says Y Motor error…

the left y rail seems to be sticking or the motor is moving slower then the Right side…

Is it always going to be like this>??? Havent even been able to use the machine becuase of constant errors coming up on it. I thought it was put together and Ran at the factory before shipping… …

Anybody have an idea of whats going on??

Hi Garrett,

It would be helpful to include:

  • Your machine type
  • Your controller type
  • Your controller firmware version
  • A widescreen, narrated video from power up to issue so they can take a look!

Guess it was stuck on the rails. I was finally able to get it all unstuck. took it apart. oil everything and put it back together..
