Howdy folks!
Does anyone have any input for a 1080P (or better) 5G web cam for your shop? All I have is a slow 2.4g security cam. I know 5g cams are rare or you need a monthly fee, (which I don’t want), but there’s a lot of smart folks on this forum so I figured it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Look into a standalone Wifi cam. I like Amcrest cameras. You can view on any device on your network. Will also work with NVR if you want one.
Just to make sure, you arent confusing a 5G (like the phone 5G) and a 5ghz and 2.4ghz wifi signal?
I have the indoor Lorex camera. Use on my IPhone. No monthly fees. Magnetic base, attached high above the cnc.

So far all I found, even from the brand you guys suggested, are 2.4ghz Wi-Fi, or they need a hub
Are you flexible on the camera being wireless?
A USB webcam and a Raspberry Pi (or old laptop) could be set up so the stream is accessible from a browser, with the huge advantage that you could run an ethernet cable. And probably improve significantly on the stream quality.
It can get a bit fiddly on the software side - I’d be glad to help with setting it up if you have the parts about!
