Accessing inner tube wires?

Hello,
I just received my order 2 days ago and wondering if anyone can help me with this: I tried to follow the video below to take out the motor wires but the retaining cap seems to be glued on mine, it doesn’t just come out and no amount of force I applied with the pliers is even budging the cap, the connector head seems to be snapped in place so it wiggles a little but the cap wont move at all even after taking the second screw out. Any idea on how to safely take the wires out without causing damage?

I remember someone else having a similar challenge recently - I can’t find the post at the moment. I believe what worked was using a long blunt pole of some sort to push it out through the tube from the other side - like a wooden dowel and hammer.
