I am trying to start a new project but Masso shows B hard limit and will no home. No settings have changed in 2 years of use. It will not home at ball. When i gently move the x,y z manualy to the sensor for homing, the sensors are not lighting up. I checked all the connection and they seem ok. Any suggestions?
Are you getting a green signal light on each motor?
Did you try and switch the Y and B cables to see if its a bad cable?
Ken, yes both the green and red lights are on. I did not try switching the y and b cables. Where should i change them. On the masso or the axis?
Is there an obstruction somewhere? Are the components lubricated properly?
On the Masso, if the issue shifts to the other motor then its a bad cable
for some reason I am having a difficult time removing the cables from the sockets. they have a pinch clip but pushing them does not help. am I doing something wrong?
None of the homing sensors ( X, Y, Z and B) are lit (red) does this mean they are not getting power?
Mike, no obstruction seen.
I switched the Y and B cables did not make any difference
Switched the Y and B cables and nothing changed. It still says B Hard limit
Then its not the cable. Next step is a motor swap if that doesn’t change anything then its the controller
It’s sounding like the ball screw is gummed up with sawdust, etc.
You can pull the motor off both sides, and try homing with the motors just sitting on the spoilboard. They should both start to turn… If they both turn, start looking for why your ball screw has resistance to turning. Throw a load of 3-in-1 oil on them, see if that helps.
