Change resolution

Im using a standard monitor and mouse with my machine. I’d like to change the screen resolution to match it (1080p). I do the normal CTRL-T, then CTRL-C and run the raspi-config. You know, the normal way to change the resolution on a Raspberry Pi.

It won’t work. Is there a workaround? Or am I stuck with 640x480 on a 27" monitor?

Have you tried this? Feature request with workaround

I did that. Effectively, it’s exactly the same thing as I described.
Anyway, it didn’t work. But what did work was CTRL + - to zoom in with the Chromium browser.
I feel like this should be easier though.
