Cutting hdpe with vbit

Hello,

I am new to cnc and this is probably a simple problem but I cut hdpe with a vbit and it left a bunch of fuzzy material in the base. How do I clear this out? I have included an image. Thank you in advance for any advice as I am truly a beginner in this field.

You should use a clearance tool as part of Vcarve toolpath. In Vetric applications, at least, you can select a clearance tool as part of your Vcarve toolpath. You select your Vbit as the vcarve tool and then you also select an end mill tool for the Clearance Tool.

Like has already been mentioned, one pocket tool path with a flat bottom bit, then run the second with the v-bit to give you the detail you want.

I’ll add, a 1 flute down cut end mill might work better than 2 or 3 flute bit or an up cut - they seem to cut through plastics (HDPE, acrylic, epoxy, etc.) more efficiently. However, the Amana bit is not flat bottom (or at least I don’t think it is), but you can find flat bottom 1 flute on Amazon pretty inexpensive.
