Just wanted to add that I had received my elite gen-2 a week ago and was able to finish a stand for it right after it arrived. This is my 3rd cnc router. My first machine was an open builds “OX” (39”x39” table) about 10 years ago. I soon replaced that with an is6000 (18”x27”table ) that I upgraded to use UCCNC with a makita router and later changed over to a Masso G3 and recently added an 80mm water cooled spindle.
Assembly of the onefinity was very straight forward and I am using the QCW. Personally, I wish they still offered the secure from above design for the waste board but I’ll make it work.
Having a Masso controller to compare to the Redline controller is great. The redline controller is still being developed and is not yet as complete as the masso, though I really like the direction they are headed. My favorite feature of the redline controller so far is that the files actually get stored on the controller and you can remove the thumb drive while cutting. It seems like a simple thing to get excited about but I have had my masso stop mid cut due to the usb disconnecting a dozen times. I was able to restart the cut without issue, it’s just annoying.
The toolsetter works perfect and so does the touch probe.
I also have the rapid change ATC sitting on standby.
After setting up the machine I ran the test files multiple times to make sure everything was working correctly. After I had learned all of the basics of the machine I cut a 8”x 10” dive helmet at 200ipm with .25 down cut roughing pass and 1/16” tapered ballnose finish pass, completed in about 1:45. The picture below is after hitting it with a sanding mop for about 30 seconds.
I can’t wait to run bigger projects and use the ATC. I also want to thank everyone who has posted their machines, projects, and opinions, it has been helpful!
