I still see it above :+1:

Yup. I see it. I am all for making a profit, that is why we all do this. I am sure after i dwell on this for a few days, i will pull the trigger and get the upgrade. I really like that Masso controller. Just gonna be a hard pill to swallow.

I do understand your initial reaction, and I am reading it everywhere on all platforms from other users, so you are not alone.

I think you will end up happy with the purchase. I never ordered the BB controller, but built my system with a WW (later X50) + Masso G3 and touch screen + ATC spindle. It was a great controller to work with, both during setup and now during use.

One way perhaps to look at it is that this will be a huge upgrade, and no matter how you decide to get it, this technology improvement will cost (in my opinion and circumstances) a lot of money. The upgrade option is just one way to get there, but for some may just be the fastest, easiest, and least expensive (relatively) way to get this new hardware.

I have been a cnc programmer for 30+ years various industries and I like what the Masso controller would bring to my machine. However, its hard to justify paying 50% of the cost of a new machine for an upgrade. If regular price of the Masso upgrade is going to be $2375 that means my rails are only worth $1275 and an X50 Journeyman rail (my machine) is regularly prices at $1200. I am all about making a profit, but seems a bit excessive. Not to mention I am sure they did not pay retail for anything they are selling us.

The hardest pill to swallow, will most likely be that fact by delaying your decision to pull the trigger you are now another month into the waiting queueā€¦ I have been there several times when I have done the sameā€¦ I knew it was going to be a pretty penny to upgrade, but donā€™t have room for two machines and donā€™t want the hassle of dealing with people during the saleā€¦ If you signup for the IPP program it is only $1875 by the wayā€¦

I am sure thats a typo. I am part of the IPP. $1875 is the price i see.

yes typoā€¦ otherwise I would be calling everyone crazy for saying it was too muchā€¦ I have corrected.

It makes more sense it you have an older machine I think.

I am holding off on this upgrade. I have too many other things that i need that will benefit me far more than this upgrade. Things like a planer, a jointer and a true dust collector will benefit my adolesant shop more than the masso controller. Who knows, by the time I get all thise things there may be a bigger badder machine than the Elite.

Funny I really thought I would want this but thinking about it honestly now Iā€™m gonna pass for the time being.

I really would miss the gamepad control and monitoring my machine from my office with the web interface and camera.

I donā€™t think the price is bad considering what you get. I believe people wanting this upgrade for much cheaper arenā€™t being realistic about everything being sent in the kits. If go through the IPP itā€™s cheaper than sourcing on your own. Yeah if you sell a machine then buy a new elite it would be cheaper in the long run. But thatā€™s not always the preferred option or even a viable option for everyone.

Still a noob but I havenā€™t found a project I couldnā€™t complete with the BB controller so far. Itā€™s definitely got its quirks. But there are other areas where I could sink money into that would benefit my machine far more.

Down the road who knows. I think itā€™s something Iā€™ll probably consider but an honest evaluation - and putting my FOMO in check - tells me I donā€™t need this right now as a hobby maker wanna be.

Just offering another viewpoint for those on the fence.

Yup, Iā€™m pretty much the same. What I have works pretty well. Iā€™m not using it for money generation and it wonā€™t create anything different than my current setup. I think the larger motors on the elite version wonā€™t actually fit my enclosure either which is a big deterrent.

Now am I getting this wrong.
I bought a machine from a person out of another state it is a woodworker x50 so I have to be a member of the IPP program to upgrade. I have been trying to get the person that sold it to me to transfer the ownership of the machine but canā€™t find the order number he thinks he tossed all the paperwork when I bought it.
And personally I would just like the controller and stepper motors and it homing. I have added all the drag chains already.

So the only way to get it is through Masso directly.

@Marcel63 Parted out like you want it, yes.

The original owner could contact us and we can help him get the order number and transfer it to you.

now that is what I call customer serviceā€¦

Any issues using the original 7w laser with the upgrade

My UPS tracker is showing the Shipping Label request for my Upgrade, so here is hoping for a delivery before my holiday breakā€¦ Time to play in the shopā€¦ Also, ordered my Brake and tool setting first thing this morningā€¦

Good deal, glad to hear they are shipping to some, according to the original shipping schedule. I am hoping for the UPS shipping label to show up soon. I also ordered the z-20 motor brake and tool setter.

Just an FYI, the motor brake and tool setter will be sent separately later.
