I am coming from a Longmill/GSender and 45yrs manufacturing. I feel the BB control software is lacking. I have a 21 monitor for my machine but cannot access my files from it nor can I see a simulation from it unless i use a different computer. This seems redundant so my solution is purchase a mini pc ($80) mount on the back of monitor. Then on my large monitor i can log onto my mini pc and since i have my BB hardwired to the network I can then open browser and connect to my BB when i want to open a file i can see all my files through my mini and it displays simulation. Anybody see issues with this? I still miss the feed over ride but will adjust rpm instead of feed if necessary.
Hey Kenneth,
this is the expected behaviour. The internal Raspberry Pi 3B has neither the resources nor the drivers installed to render the 3D toolpath simulation. It is only shown on a remote computer. The “Upload” icon of the Onefinity User Interface, when opened on the remote computer, shows the “File open…” dialog of your remote web browser which allows access to your remote computer’s entire filesystem.
I access the buildbotics-derived Onefinity controller the same way, over an ethernet cable connected to an ethernet switch.
In the controller in /etc/network/interfaces.d/eth0, I have set up a ip address from the private ip range so it is accessible from any computer in my local network.
