Group consensus on an MPG?

OK y’all. My machine is finally in a truck, so time to decide on an MPG.

I know Woodpecker has something in the works but as far as what is available now, what do you guys think of either of these?

I installed one that is similar to that shown last on my Masso G3 ATC build.
I find the pendant indispensable for the work I do, so am happy to have installed one.
I like the safety button that avoids accidental movement .
It did not take long to be able to use it without looking at it, so muscle memory allows me to be be looking at the stock and endmill, while being able to precisely jog using one hand to hold the pendant (and depress the safety button) and the ohter to turn the selection dials and handwheel.
I imagine both that you selected would work well for you.
Being able to choose a 24VDC version makes the install easier, and both have long coiled cables.
I do not have the Touch, but the G3 in an enclosure. I wanted more extension so installed a box at the front of my table into which the pendant leads connect. it gives me the ability to move all around the table with the pendant.

Yeah this is the primary motivator. Had to jog my laser from the console, which was unbearable. I got a wireless keyboard that can control it and that made a world of difference. Can keep both (failing) eyes on the tool as I direct it in on the reference point.

No way I’m playing that game with the Masso touch. I’ve seen the videos of people jogging it like that and it is way too jumpy.

And a safety/active button is a must. I can’t believe they even make ones without it.

Not sure you can accurately use the machine without one, I have the Masso MPG.

Ok, so I caved. Which one did you end up getting? because I have decided I want one as well. You make a well-reasoned argument… Damn you Mr krag lol.

I also looked at the masso one looks more appealing as I would not have to wire it in it is made for it. a bit more money but… what isn’t?

I guess I’m jumping on the bandwagon  . Waiting to see which ones you decide on.

well, except for having to dissect the connector to get it to fit in the case. Still baffles me how masso didnt think that out better.

3 of these adds a whole $8 and you end up in the same place as after taking apart the standard db25 on the masso.

I will likely go with the Calt as it just seems better in the hand

But first, this dang table.

Are you saying that the Masso pendant does not fit the Masso 3g touch huh? WTF? lol. Woah I just was on the Masso website and wow, by the time you are done it is 217 dollars!!! For that kind of money I will learn to wire some shit. hell I built a computer from parts once I should be able to figure this out to save a hundred and fifty bucks.

One reason I went with one from an online source - $68 CAD+Tx with the usual fast shipping.

If you could send a link to the proper fitting connecter I would appreciate it and let me know where to find the wiring instructions too please lol

If you are getting the Masso MPG in America, get it from PWNCNC, much cheaper than Masso AU.

The connector is a DB-15 connector, it is the shell that is the problem. Even right angle shells do not fit inside the Masso controller.

Oops, thank you for pointing that out. I’d have been annoyed as hell with myself when I caught that.

And knowing me, it would be AFTER wiring it up. Because why check before I start? /s

I have the one from Masso, I think PwnCNC sells them now as well. Onefinity should sell them.
It is cheaper to buy from Pwncnc.

I would not even run my machine without it, that is how good it is, But we have them on every mill and lathe at work. To be honest i have never ran a machine that didnt have them. Should be the first upgrade you do hands down.
