My Controller will not boot up. On 7/26/24 I ran 5 projects without any issues. Later that day I started another project. On the second pass on a guitar body the machine stopped, and the screen indicated that the controller was re-booting. I started the project over and about 25% into the first pass the machine stopped again, the controller was re-booting. At that point I shut the machine down for the day. Today 7/27/24 I started the machine it took a long time before it booted. I ran the first phase rough cut on the guitar side 1 with no issues. I properly shut the machine down and after lunch went to start it up again with no (zero) luck, the machine did not boot. I checked the power into the machine, and it has power to the CPU but it does not start and the CPU cooling fan does not run. I have the X-50 Journeyman 32x48. I need help ASAP
You may have a clogged up power switch. It’s been reported before. You can take it apart & blow out the sawdust (if you search here you should find the post). Or you could jump (bypass it using a wire on both sides) the switch to see if it powers up correctly and just replace the switch if jumping it works. Lots of them on Amazon.
Jim thanks for the thought. I have checked the power switch and it is working ok. Bill
Hey William,
there have been reports with failing contacts on screw terminals / on their wire ferrules between the internal Meanwell Power Supply and the AVR Mainboard.
Some of the BB controllers have inline fuses: See here
Also it’s summer so how hot is your shop?
Thank you for your information, it appears that the power supply unit is not functioning as necessary as the output Volts are less than 1V. It should be 36 Volts. I am ordering a new power unit today and hope this will resolve my issues. I have checked the one inline fuse, and it appears to be good. Yes, my shop is hot as heck, but I have good air movement with a large exhaust fan and floor fan.
