How do you get the holes in the right spots for the wasteboard? Cutting to size is no problem, placing all the holes is a big challenge.
Secure from above, or below?
above, my trouble is starting without ability to mill a wasteboard and im using table saw
The locations of the holes are in the manual. Lay them out and double check your lines on the QCW, if they line up than drill them. I don’t know what tools you have available so I can not tell you any specific procedure to do. But once you get one board to work than you can use that board to do the rest of the boards. So basically you are making a template to drill the holes.
I ran into same issue. I bought the secure from above months ago and was sitting in the garage. Now getting around to setting it up and I decide I wanted to instead secure from below as I did not want to hand drill all those holes and it would be cleaner without the holes. So then the issue was how to make it secure from below. I figured this was a good first project to hack my brand-new machine (not really), so I set up a job to peck drill 3/16 holes about a 1” away from the secure from above holes and let the CNC do surgery on itself. The results came out good and learned a lot. Now I can secure from either method, but plan to secure from below. They should ship it with both holes for a few reasons. 1) It gives people options and ability to change their mind, and 2) It saves them from stocking and handling two different versions. The little bit of extra drilling I think would be made up with reduced handling and complexity and stocking two different versions.
