Homing alarm problem

I have a elite journeyman with masso 3. Ive been getting a homing alarm at power up. I power up and release the estop and press the homing buttob twice and the z goes down about a half inch then stops and masso shown a homing alarm. How did this happen and how do i fix it?

The Z axis should raise to the highest position when homing.

In the homing screen/settings, if you have “Request homing on startup/after estop checked” uncheck them save and restart controller (you can check them again later after troubleshooting).

After restart, use the jog commands to move the Z axis … does Z+ move the spindle up or down?

Tried this and but still can not move jog command. Also rechecked the homing after estop and after releasing the estop this time i get an x motor alarm. Checked the motors and nothing out of order there. I am so confused. This was all going good last week.

When jogging you are set on continuous mode?

I would not worry about homing until you get your 3 axes to move as expected.

It sounds like this is a new issue - I thought initially this was a new install.

If you did not change any settings, perhaps double check all wiring and connectors and try again to jog axes - no homing yet.

There will be a solution.

Ifound that the rowdy roman hose system had a bent limit switch connection so never shut the x axiis. Once i corrected this all worked fine. Thank you for your help.
