Homing x-35 Woodworker

Am I missing a step in homing my CNC?

At startup when prompted to Home my machine the X axis usually homes and then just stalls and clunks continually until I hit Stop.

I can usually get a Home position after a couple tries of moving X and Y a distance from Home and repeating the process.

Might have to adjust your amp settings to something a little more sensitive.

Yes, I had to reduce my Idle Current for X drive from 2.0 to 1.0 amps. This definitely solves the problem.

However, I ramped up this Idle Current earlier (to 2.0) in order to run my Woodworker mounted vertically. Otherwise it had a tendency to fall while carving.

Thanks; I will see where we go from here.

The final result to solve the “homing” chatter was to lower my “stall” current until the vertically mounted X axis would gently home.

Now the three axes home as they should and X doesn’t hit the limit and chatter until I E-stop the homing procedure.
