How to upgrade firmware in OneFinity X35 BB (solved, link in comments)

Hello!

This is my first post here. I purchased a lightly used X35 that looks like it may be the original machine with the controller based on BuildBotics. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks and (amazingly) have had excellent results with it, making gifts for Christmas. Now that I’m through the machining for these gifts, now I can focus my attention on the machine itself.

First item is how to update to the latest firmware. The current FW is v1.0.8, and it says “Upgrade to v1.6.6”. If I click that, it leads to a page that offers Upgrade via Web, or Upgrade via File. If I click the Web option, it asks for a password. I have no idea what that would be. Anybody know what they might be? Alternatively, I’ve been hunting for the release repo and have not found it. Any help there would be much appreciated.

Second item is that I’ve seen references to being able to control the machine from a laptop. Any hints on how that’s done would be great! I’d love to be able to get the 3D rendering of the .gc code when it’s loaded in.

I think I’ll stop there.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

Fantastic! The firmware updated perfectly using the Web approach.

The password for my machine was onefinity.

Is there a place where I can look at revision logs and see what has changed since my old 1.0.8 version?
