Hello, I am having a issue where I am running morganhops surfacing file and about 1 min after it starts the machine just stops mid cut and zero’s out wherever it stops at. The last line code I get is M02 as it is ended but why is it ending way before the file is done?
I have had my machine for a little over a year with really zero issues besides user errors. Only thing I did was replace the spoilboard and now trying to surface the new one. This is the same file I always use to do so.
Did you ever get a solution to this? I know this is an old thread but mine is doing the same. I suspect I was overdriving the machine with a dull bit but why set the origin to 0?
I had my machine suddenly start resetting mid cut. It would just stop and lose all its info. Home, zero etc. turned out to be EMI.
I had a similar situation. Machine worked for like a year without issue. I changed up my table and spoilboard and it suddenly appeared. For me it was my dust collector. I had to re-rout my hose and ground everything. Don’t have any issues after that.
Thanks. New machine to me as I moved from my Millright. This happened on my third tool on the same project. It was driving hard and my tool was a bit dull. I suspected that it approached the stall current limits that would assume it is home. I have read the EMI posts and I will ground my machine and look at the dust collection. I moved my router cable to an separate circuit altogether. Next step is to move my hose to the opposite (right) side.
I posted this reply on another forum entry. I wanted to be sure people saw this. It caused me a lot of pain to get to a solution.
This entry helped me solve a similar problem. I’ve had my machine for 2+ years, and it has been working well. Int the last 2 months, it would stop mid carve and display error messages. After updating to 1.4.2 and 1.6.0, the problem still occurred but the message changed or stopped. The machine did clear x,y,z each time.
I did an air carve and it worked. In addition, many toolpaths did run, but not all. Often, the machine stopped when I was cutting the perimeter for a carving. It seemed odd, but it seemed to stop when turning a corner on the perimeter.
After reading this entry. I ran a power cord to another room and put the vacuum and router on the line.
Now everything worked
I have only one circuit in my garage/shop. So, I bought a power line filter to replace the extension cord. I got a StarTech.com 4-Outlet Industrial Power Strip 125V/15A, EMI/RFI Isolation. I think any product that does EMI/RMF isolation would have worked.
