I have the 1F Elite Journeyman with the 80mm spindle bracket and ran into the situation where the spindle bracket would rub against the arms as the Z axis moved up and down and, then, one of the spindle bracket bolts hit the 3-wing knob on the left arm which pushed it out and the shoe dropped out of the arm and into the spinning bit.
That one cost me $27.95 because the shoe was pretty much hosed by that. The left arm was also bent and never quite fit back into slider slot as well again.
I went on Etsy and found replacement arms (ordered 2 new shoes from 1F) and mentioned what had happened to the maker (Brian) and he tweaked the design of the arms to help me out. He did a couple of things: 1) made the extension part of the arm which was nice (2) shortened the top just enough for the z-axis to clear the knob as it moves up and down.
Here’s a link to what I originally bought, not sure if he’s got a link up for the version he sent me: [https://www.etsy.com/listing/1611173858/onefinity-suck-it-dust-boot-arms]
If I could suggest a design change for the SuckIt dust boot, it would be to make it just a little wider (and the slots on the Z bracket wider to match) to give more clearance so that things don’t get bumped into on the way up or down. Just a 1/4" on each side would make this problem go away, I think…
