Hey Brian,
if you change the topic, you should create a new topic. The FAQ says, don’t change the topic in the middle of a thread.
For Journeyman (120 × 80 cm workarea), I always calculate 5 m. But it depends on where you want to put the VFD control cabinet. You can have it near the machine or on the wall so you would add some length. Usually the VFD control cabinet should be on a height where you can access the power, estop and reset buttons when standing in front of it, and where you can easily read the VFD’s display and see the lights of the Safety Relay, so I add 1 m so I always buy 6 m.
