Hey Everyone,
Quick question about the 64W J Tech Laser that was just released. Does mounting this unit require the removal of the spindle or is there any way to mount it with the spindle also still mounted (or aftermarket adapters that allow/will allow this as may have been done with previous J Tech models. Just trying to figure out logistics.

Here is a video from Jtech showing it cutting with the spindle installed. Looks to be a more or less identical arrangement to their other offerings.
Not going to lie, I’m normally on the side of unenclosed diodes can be a bit spooky but if you keep them in a controlled environment theyre no big deal. Wear your safety squints and lock down the area.
But thats a lot of fire coming from the 3/4 pine! I have a 44 and keep some water nearby (as well as a fire extinguisher). I’ve never come close to needing the fire extinguisher but i’ve definitely ended a few jobs early dousing them in water when i saw smouldering. Cutting very thick wood, especially if it takes multiple passes, is something you need to be very careful about.
