This was a lifesaver. I got mine setup today following your insight and it worked! Only issue I had was that my redline spindle wasn’t setup for ccw rotation so I had to connect the white wire to the control board.
I’m glad it worked out for you. To each his own but IMO this is a much better user experience with the ATC. I suspect the Redline controller will also make the ATC more user friendly but good to know that there’s a way with the Masso too.
The Masso is a nice controller IMO, so no FOMO for me! What post would you use with Vectric for the native Masso tool change? Mine is setup, but I have yet to run a program.
On a side note, I found that I can change between manual tool change and the rapid change via the F1 screen, so far it tests out, have you found any implications with doing that?
Use the same Onefinity Masso post processor that you’ve been using all along, no need to change. If you were using the subroutines you’d need to use a different post processor. One way to do a manual tool change would be to export the a separate file for the tools not in the Rapid Change. You could then manually load the tool in the spindle and in the F4 screen select your tool and hit the manual load and zero buttons prior to running the job.
I haven’t got mine set up yet so this may be a dumb question on how to switch back and forth. Is it as simple as selecting “Manual Tool Change” and “Saving”? And going back by selecting “RapidChange” and “saving”.
And yes there are dumb questions, but some idiot will be glad you asked. ![]()
@pwsusi …or anybody who has set this up…I have matched up masso native rapidchange ATC settings with the Rapidchange web UI view Details page . Can you please check if it looks right ? especially if “Z Clearance == Collet clearance offset” or if it should be
“Pocket Offset == Collet clearance offset” w.r.t the picture attached.
We suggest reaching out directly to rapid change support. They are very helpful and responsive and should get you fixed up!
Do you have the contact info for RapidChange ATC? I can’t find anything on the dashboard or the registration card that came with the ATC.
I followed the instructions in the Manual and Video links on the OneFinity Support site. I got to the steps in the RapidChange WebUI and could not get the “Find Z Position” script to run. I spent 2 days checking Masso configuration settings and re-doing everything in the manual and video, just to make sure I did not miss a step. I eventually found that those instructions are out of date.
Do you have links to the latest/correct documents for installing and configuring the Easy ATC on the Masso G3 (v5.13)? Each company (OneFinity, RapidChange, and Masso) direct you to different documents and videos, and they either contradict each other or are incomplete. The more information I find, the more confusing this is getting.
Welcome to the world of the rapidly changing frontier of CNC wood working machining. Changes are faster than we can even keep up with. I got my machine second week of February. I have yet to run it with all goodies functioning and have already updated the software/firmware twice, and another is expected in a few days’ time. LOL what a world! hang in there it will get better.
