Qcw enclosure ideas

I purchased a onefinity elite gen-2 foreman cnc earlier in the year. It’s my first CNC machine and, so far, it seems to be working well. I purchased the QCW stand for the machine: ready made, solid, etc. I also bought the suck-it boot. (Maybe this is version 2? Can’t remember.)

Now that I’ve used the machine for a while, I do find dust collection is adequate but only barely. What I find myself wishing for is an enclosure for the machine. Before I take time out of my busy schedule, I thought I’d see if anyone had ideas for ready-made solutions. An enclosure that could mate with the QCW would be esp. nice to hear about.

Barring that, I think it probably makes sense to get rid of the QCW by building my own table with storage and also with an enclosure of some sort. Has anyone built a table/enclosure like this? If so, I’d love to see some pictures and/or descriptions: could be helpful with my own build.

If you really want to build your own table, why not take the legs off the QCW and mount the QCW to your table, or spend that money on a better dust collection system.

I have a better dust collection system in progress. And, I have the suck-it gen 2 boot, which does work pretty well when the CNC bits aren’t overly long. But, I am building guitars so 2-inch bits are called for fairly frequently. I think adding an enclosure would be a help.

I like the QCW table & legs but I’m starting to think that building a custom table would make it easier to make use of storage below the CNC table; it would also make it easier to mount an enclosure.

I made an enclosure from 3/4 pvc (I think 3/4) and plastic sheeting. I used green house clips to secure the sheeting to the pvc. You can make it any size and it works great for my needs. I didn’t have time to invest in a nice boxed enclosure. If you go this route, check around for the pvc 3-way corner pieces. The big box stores charge a fortune and they can be purchased much cheaper. good luck

Thanks! Did you make it fully enclosed? ie, did you make a flap for the lid? or, did you make a frame for an access door out of pvc?

I made a full enclosure with extruded aluminum, polycarbonate panels and 1/8" plexiglass. The table is visible and accessible from all 4 sides (sliding panels on sides and back, and bifold doors in front). The polycarbonate panels are rigid, allowing me to store things on top of the enclosure.
