Solved: Woodworker is cutting short along my Y axis

Hey Guy,

you did not tell which machine you have. Depending on the model/age you may have problems with lacking strain relief which leads to connection errors on the stepper cables/connectors a few weeks or monthes after first use of the machine. This mainly would affect X and Z errors.

But even if you have the newest PRO or Elite model with drag chains, the cables are a weak spot on the Onefinity machines. The connectors used are not made for external use on moving parts and the stepper motor cables are all not shielded.

There are, of course, many more possible causes for your issue. I would check the points in this support document one by one.

Also is your machine properly rectangular (“squared”) (bar gauge) and coplanar (“not twisted”) (fishing line method)? If both are not adjusted accurately the Y axis movement can block, loose steps, or have “hiccups”.
