I actually performed a complete refit with my Journeyman Cnc Before I ever used it.
I very much liked the hardware structure of the onefinity but have been a diehard user of Mach3 for many years and really didn’t want to learn another software package.
So I converted the entire cnc to use Mach3 software…rewired all the stepper motors, added new digital controllers, added new proximity switches for limit and homing and a PC I already had.
Also added a water cooled 80mm spindle.
Its works like a charm. I also don’t experience many of the anomalies that I have seen on the discussion forums.
This was just a personal choice I made. The Onefinity system is fine and a great piece for someone who wants to get into cnc work.

I have a LPT breakout board, PSs, drivers, 4 closed loop steppers. I’m 3d printing the end stop switch mounts now. I’m going to put LinuxCNC on an older PC and ditch Buildbotics. All my other CNC friends are telling me, start slow and do a M50 and speed things up after it’s running well. BB doesn’t support M50 and likely never will.
