Hello everyone, I am a new member here. I recently installed a water cooled spindle/inverter and hooked it up originally with 16 ga. 4 cond. shielded cable to test it…total run time is like 30 minutes. I did some projects and everything ran fine. I then received the recommended 12ga. cable and installed it. Ran for a few minutes and it tested good. A few weeks later(yesterday) I go to run a project and the inverter is flashing R25 and will not run the spindle. The reset fault option (X3) does not remove/reset the code. Google shows that code to be a ‘over-current draw’. I used a meter and checked all the wiring and nothing is touching or shorted. I read that a reset to factory can fix it if there is a parameter that was off, so I did that, went thru all the parameters to change for the spindle I have, but no change. If I power up the inverter with the spindle disconnected, it is the same even after pushing the reset button. My question is how can I tell if it’s the inverter or the spindle that is bad? Unit was brand new in the box, but I am not the original owner, bought it from someone. The models are as follows:
Spindle- GDZ-80-2.2B 110 Volts 15 amps 400hz 24,000 rpm
Inverter - H100-2.2C2-1B INPUT-1 phase 110VAC OUTPUT-3 phase, 0-110V 12.5amp 0-1000hz
Any help is Greatly appreciated,
Dave
update One piece of info I forgot to mention was that I was able to reset the code a few times and try to start it but it tripped the code right away. I did an amps measurement with my clamp meter and on the U wire, it drew 15.4 amps when I tried to start it with NO load…..
