Anyone else having trouble with layers doing weird things like when you copy to a layer it shows up on a different one or sometimes another layers info will also drop onto the same layer you are copying to It gets even wackier with templates. I have put two computers beside each other and followed Mark Lindsay stacked text step by step on one while watching the other- with closed caption to make sure I didn’t miss anything and still get unpredictable results with toolpaths. Using Pro version 11
If you are using v-Carve Pro have you updated to the latest version? If so then I would log into your portal on the Vectric website and check or post in the forums the issue and maybe someone there maybe able to help.

I think I know what your issue is…
Do all of your work on one layer
Then separate all of your parts on separate layers
On a separate layer, WELD a copy of the first layer, and the second layer together.
This will give you the 2 layered result you want…
PS… make sure you also choose the boarder when you weld
Just ran this with a maple leaf on the second layer

I broke it down into its most fundamental tasks. What did work after getting everything on the correct layers was to run each tool size from each layer individually. Merging toolpaths with the same size bit did not work.
It’s a pain but it will get the job done. I am going to wait a couple of weeks and see if they come out with an update that works
