Unwanted Pause between toolpathsF360 and Masso

Hi, I have been using 1F and F360 for a while now. I upgraded from Pro to Elite a few months ago, and I have done a number of jobs since then where the tool doesn’t change, but the toolpath changes from pocket to Contour. In a recent job, the machine stopped at the end of the pocket, the spindle continued to spin, and the dust collection (coolant setting) remained on. I get a message asking me to press the green start button to continue. I press it, and the job continues. I want the job to continue without user intervention. Has something happened in F360 that caused this? Aside from the recommended recent precision change, I haven’t changed the masso or post-processor (I use the community edition).

I would appreciate your thoughts.

Perhaps optional stop (controls the M01 command) is turned on - you will see the status at the top of the Touch screen. Just tap it to turn it off and see if that helps.

Also, make sure you are using the correct post processor.

“Optional Stop”.I thought it might be that, but it makes no difference. I’ll check the post processor has F360 upg

rades sometimes have an impact

Looks like in the past I did not change spindle speeds between cuts. In the current case I have a speed change from 18000 to 24000. When I make them both 24000 the post-processor inserts a pause and message. I raise a query with the person who wrote the post processor. I think they added the pause to help me (I wanted the machine to pause on start up to so I could be reminded to check that the VFD was switched on). They may be able to keep this function but ignore speed changes.

BTW I’m enjoying milling Brass. I’m making some puck like things for a game of Palet.

So happy you found out the reason - machine on!

The brass pieces look good. What diameter and thickness are they?

19mm thick x 60mm diameter.

I will mill a hollow on the opposite side to that shown and mark the numbers on top: 1-12. And a smaller jack piece.

They are traditionally made from cast iron, but that is not an option for me. Brass is not cheap, but I thought I’d try it.

Played like petanque or boule.
