VFD question from a newb

I’m looking at a HY VFD. It outputs 4 watts, do I have to use a 4W spindle? Or can this be a grow into it kind of thing where I can just go to a bigger spindle later on? Looking to start with a 1.5 and maybe go to a 2.2 later on.

You can power a smaller spindle than that. You just have to adjust the settings for the spindle that you were setting up. You will be able to upgrade to a larger spindle later if you want.
