Yes, I think you would be a much happier camper with this upgrade.
Alden,
I just ordered the predator, with mouse and 4 warranty and tech support.I will have buyers remorse for a day or two. I still need to order the spindle and cutters that discussion belongs on a different listings
Thank you so much for your help,by the way what do you have for a spindle?
Dave
Good decision, David. You won’t regret it. I use the Makita. Its a great little router for the money. It has served me well so far and does what I ask it to. Money spent on the computer and software should come first. VCarvePro is very powerful and should be your first focus in mastering the Onefinity. There is a lot to learn.
Yes these are often gaming computers but not always. My desktop computer was sold as such but one of my laptops has this but was not billed as a gaming machine.
The important thing is that it has the dedicated video chip and memory almost always this will be in the advertisement as none of the low end machines do it this way.
Thank you so much Mark. I did pull the trigger on a new unit that did have dedicated memory as you suggested. Now to start learning the software but I will have to wait until mid March for my new laptop.
Now to pick out my spindle.
It’s a dirty shame all the coolest mice are right handed.
Which is why as a lefty I am a right mouser
I am new to this forum and just ordered my OF. I am also curious about laptop requirements and see alot of people talking about this V-Carve Pro.
Is this software capable of 2D/3d design and toolpath programming?
Yes it is and you will need a very powerful laptop to get the best experience from VCarvePro. However, if you want to create full 3D design you will need to invest in Aspire. Pro can do a lot with 3D files but it can’t create them from scratch. Start with VCarvePro and then when you have mastered that consider moving up to Aspire.
Vectric runs on the PC platform. If you need to run on Mac you will need some sort of front end package to make V-Varve Pro think it is running on a PC.
If you already have a PC I would work my way into VCarve before spending money on a powerful new computer.
Thanks for the info.
I currently don’t have any PC or laptop. I’m guessing something with gaming power will do the trick?
Funny that I’ve been working with, and programming CNC for 30 years as a trade job, but don’t own a computer at home. Lol.
I’ve found that my phone does everything I needed up until now.
