First Thanks to all that contribute to this forum. Have read many post I have learned so much and seen many Ideas to pull from. This forum has lead me to purchase my 1F Elite Foreman. I have received the machine but not the RedLine 80mm Spindle. I have built a table that I think will best suite my needs and use. This table has a vertical clamping surface between the Y rails at the front of the table. So onto my question, What would be the location of the bit center in relation to the front of the Y rails feet when X rail is all the way forward. This knowledge will allow me to position the Y rails on the table for best use of the vertical clamping surface. Thanks in advance!!!
You said you have your machine. Assemble it and set on the table and you can position it so that it will cover the area you are concerned with. It is easy to move in the x,y and z axis with the power off. Just give it a little push. Nothing will be damaged.
Thanks Poppyscott
I just unboxed the rails and was setting them on the table. I have not screwed anything together yet. Just thinking about where the feet should be and where the bit would be from there. With the spindle hanging on the front of the X rail where the bit would end up in relation to the Y rail feet would be nice to know. Once the unit is put together I could measure from the spindle mount 40 mm to find the location of the bit. Just thought someone may have already figured that out.
