Z Axis Alarm Won’t Reset

My machine froze during a carve and the Z axis hasn’t been able to move since then.

I have tried turning off/on the machine and resetting the errors in the settings page, but it still won’t move on the Z axis.

When I try to home the machine, it shows as moving on the controller but the CNC doesn’t move and eventually it just retrips a homing error.

Physically Swap the Z and X motor and visa versa, reboot, clear motor alarms, and try homing.

I tried to swap the motors but the Z motor has an extra 3/8” or so of length of metal between the motor and the drive gear so it doesn’t fit on the X mount.

I air blew and rehooked everything on the existing motors and the issue is still occurring. The Z motor is flashing an error light as soon as I try to start the homing process.

The motor are identical, the motor couplers are identical, the placement ‘stick out’ of the motors are different, adjusted by the motor coupler grub screws.

Try the swap and adjust the couplers accordingly.

Thank you, that is working intermittently.

There seems to be an issue with the Z3 connection. If I hold it in place it will work and home properly, but at it’s default spot with the cover on, the connection comes loose.

Can you please have support arrange a new Z3 cable for me and email the info to ekpaul87@gmail.com?
