Here’s my Fusion 360 model.
It’s lacking the spindle mount but otherwise it’s true to the dimensions posted by 1F
Andrew,
I so wish I had the ability to draw like that, very cool
I shared the version I downloaded in another thread. Link below:
Thanks everyone!
Thanks very much!
I certainly spend a lot of time on Fusion, so I’d like to think I’m getting better
Thanks everyone for the help
Hey Dennis, do you have a photo of your enclosure? A few guys in my complex have CNCs that are enclosed but they don’t have any type of fan cooling into the enclosure.
I am not sure if it is necessary, but it does get really warm out here in Florida.
Hi Crystal!
I’m in the middle of a move… I hope to post proper pictures in some three, four weeks.
But FYI: I don’t have a fan cooling into my enclosure either. I use a water-cooled spindle with a 20L cooling liquid reservoir installed on the outside of the enclosure. It doesn’t get too warm in Germany, especially not in my brick walled, high ceiling workhop.
So, I am awaiting my OF woodworker cnc.
I would like to build the table now. I fortunately do have plenty of room, but don’t want to go overboard.
The table needs to be big enough to accommodate a drag chain on the side and room enough for an enclosure. Monitor and controllers can be mounted to side.
So my question is: if I purchased a steel base 44x44, and made my top 48x48, would that be enough room to accommodate the machine+drag chain+enclosure on the sides? And be able to accommodate the machine+dust boot+ enclosure on the front and back?
Am I forgetting anything???
My other option is 64x64,lol. I could make it fit but really don’t want mdf top to be two pieces if I can help it.
I to am using a 44"x44" base (Kreg). I opted for 2 sheets of MDF sandwiched together for my top. A local place here in Columbus sells them oversized so I am making my top 49"x65" with overhang on one side for some custom drawers I plan to add for tools and bits. Also on the extended side, I will have my controller, a monitor arm for a 30" screen, the drag chains and control box. It will also provide a small area for me to do some design work while the machine is running a carve.
So your table overhangs 20" on one side?
I also plan on purchasing the kreg table base.
Would the 44x64 base be a better fit?
It might be a better fit but I already have the 44x44 base for it.
Nice Job! What size is the table top? It looks like you have just enough room for an enclosure if you wanted to add one but I cant tell. I am building my table soon and want at least 3 to 4 inches all the way around.
Hey Alex. Wondering if this was your final pictures and this build and if you any problems with routing cables? I have a limited space that I need to storage my 1F (dogs shed) so I need to take in out every time I use it. Also, if I can buy your plans as well.
Here’s what I ended up doing for my OF Woodworker.
Designed this in SketchUp and hired a student to weld it up for me; he did a great job, much better than I could do!
Top is doubled up 3/4" MDF, 48"x48". Finish is silver powder coating by Jack Rabbit Mfg. in Bryan, TX. There will be some kind of shelf and/or storage below, but I haven’t figured that out yet. 4" double locking casters; I haven’t noticed any problems due to movement or shaking yet.
The OF is set off slightly to the table right so I’ll have a bit of extra room for a drag chain on the table left.
Decided to go with T Track at full 48" length.
Hi Glenn! Thanks for posting the Kreg cart thing, can be a super solution for me. Would you mind sharing how did it pan out for you? I’m considering it for my woodworker. thanks!!
Hi Efrat!
It has worked out OK for me so far. I have had to move the table a couple of times to make room for finishing the space and other projects. Being able to collapse it and move it out of the way has been very nice.
I will warn you though, it is VERY heavy! I have needed assistance to set it back up on the second set of legs. I suppose that I could rig up a pull cord to drop the legs and get them to the locked postion, but having done that yet. I just call my wife or son downstairs to lend a hand so far. Maybe I should go to the gym and work out more?
Thanks for quickly posting back Glenn! I’m mostly solo in the studio, so the weight thing sounds like a no-go. will look into the rockler one, perhaps that will be the route. https://www.rockler.com/rockler-material-mate-panel-cart-and-shop-stand
thanks again!
You betcha! I first considered the Rockler flip cart as well. I found that it had a lot of “play” in the latch and that it just didn’t feel like it locked securely. I think that the latch is only about 1/2" overlap with the frame. It’s only rated for 150 lbs - that is very close to the weight of the OneFinity all by itself. That’s why I went with the Kreg (350 lbs rating).
Don’t overlook the mounting systems that OneFinity is offering. I know that they are pricey, but at least they are turnkey and you won’t spend extra time trying to put together a system from scratch.
Good advice - thanks Glenn!
