Elite Upgrade Kit Ordered (discussion)

I home at the front of the machine, so my sensors are at the front and so are the motors. No need to adjust the sensors for proper homing… I tried using the sensors at the back, but I was getting some intermittent errors when homing and it was making my brain hurt when I tried to update the settings, so figured it was easier to just create two extensions for the sensors to move them to the front. I have the drag chains set up just like normal. Only exception is that it needed to have a spacer for the bolts on the rear Y and I used the existing holder for the Masso since I cant use it on the front with the motor, but could have used shorter bolts, also. I plan to use the Masso holder to possible hold the arm for spindle and waterlines and/or dust collection(similar to RowdyRoman solution), and then just build a custom arm for the Masso panel… I think i saw someone used some Pipe holder a while back (Need to go find that pic)…

Sure, will take a few snapshots or video. My machine just went through the Elite upgrade process and waiting on my z-brake before cleaning up the cable mess. I just moved to the new house so still setting up the the dust collection system.

My upgrade install went pretty well. Like others, there was no documentation at all in the cartons, but I was able to follow along with the official Elite upgrade YouTube video. My biggest issue was I needed to drill out a couple of the old stepper motor coupling bolts because the Allen key slots stripped when trying to loosen them. Also, there were no instructions or return labels for the return parts so I emailed Onefinity about this and am still waiting to hear back. They are all boxed up and ready to return.

So far I’m impressed with all the thought that has gone into the Elite/Masso rewire and cable management although I did have to order a set of cable extensions because my Masso controller mount is on the outside of my machine enclosure, and the supplied wires are not quite long enough to accommodate it. I also got the MPG pendant from Masso because I figured I would miss using the joypad. One thing I will miss is the Onefinity control web access from my Mac, the Masso Link software is pretty basic.

I’m currently working on installing a YuanYang VFD/Spindle I bought a couple of years ago but never got around to using since the Makita router has worked just fine. I’m putting the 2.2 Kw VFD, choke filter, etc. into a proper metal enclosure so it’s taking some time. In the meantime, I 3D printed a 80-65 mm spindle adapter so I can keep using the Makita.

For the return label, check on the exterior of the shipping box for a plastic pouch. It took me a couple weeks but I finally found the return label in this pouch. Good luck.

Yeah, not sure what to think, I buy stuff almost weekly, things like this that i dont need but for sure its the most far off from the original lead time from when the order was placed. I would never hold them times to truth and we have since watched the times grow but that should not have effected orders prior to the increased lead time.

With that, many people will sit in silence and others I’m sure have reached out to customer service for an update and I’m just hoping for a 4x4 upgarde path also sooner tham l8er lol.

I am still hopfull it will ship in 2024 :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

@Duanob69 when did you order the upgrade kit?
My order 42617 was placed in the first few minutes when they launched the upgrade on Nov 2, and was shipped out on Dec 14 which was 6 weeks. I was a bit disappointed since the original shipping estimate at time of order was 3 to 4 weeks, however was happy to receive before the holidays.
The estimated delivery time was increased to 6-8 weeks later in the day on launch, and is now 7-9 weeks, I assume due to overwhelming demand.
Hopefully you get your upgrade soon.
Best wishes.

Patience. I ordered my original workman/Journeyman Feb 2021. Received it Jul 2021.

I emailed support and got no reply. Rolling into week 12(13 with the week they had off)

Nov 3rd, 11am. 42796 :see_no_evil:.

I think that’s whats getting people, the wait time was low, as time went on the time was increasing for new orders but why did the orders get behind and noone was filled in?. Silence is sometimes not any better than letting people know things are behind with updates.
