About 3 months ago I uploaded a lightburn Gcode for a laser etch, and the process worked as expected, however, when I went to delete the Gcode (I delete everything off the controller after I use it), the gcode was not available to delete. The actual code remains in the gcode display area, and I can load new Gcode and run it properly with no issue, but whenever I delete the new Gcode, the old Lightburn code from 3 months ago comes back into the gcode display area. Lightburn Gcode is saved as “Name.gc” while vcarve Gcode is saved “Name.ngc”, wondering if that has anything to do with it. When I recently updated to v1.6.2. I thought that might clear it up but it did not.
It sounds like there may be a caching issue with your controller’s software, which isn’t completely clearing old data from its memory. You can try resetting the controller to its factory settings, which might help resolve this problem. Alternatively, consult the user manual for any specific instructions on clearing cache or memory. Make sure you have a backup of your settings and files before proceeding with a reset. Additionally, you might want to reach out to the manufacturer’s support for further assistance, as they might have more tailored solutions for this issue.
It’s a change to the BB firmware that appeared a few revisions ago. I would always delete the last program before shutting down the controller. At first it bothered me because I was worried that the controller would run the new code and then continue to the old code. But 1F confirmed that it wouldn’t happen.
