Loading Folder From Computer BB Controler

I load a folder using the web interface and then select the ngc file using the computer. When I move to the machine both the folder and ngc file are blank but I can select them. In older versions I was able to set the ncg from the computer. Upload a folder has just created confusion for me. Also screen flicker was not a problem before but now I get frequent screen resets which have not caused a problem with cuts. I understand EMI but nothing changed on my machine, however I will change the brushes on my Mikita.

Steve, I noticed similar….using the laptop to load up the cut files to BB. But, it seems to be just the first one of the day, they all transfer, but the first one has to be called up at the machine screen to show up. Using version 1.4.2

As a result I still use the laptop to create folders and send cut files….but, always hit the start on the machine screen double checking the file.

Should report as a software quirt?

Do like all the cut files can be put in the machine folder.

I take a different approach by opening my toolpath export files from my Onefinity using a shared network folder set up inside the Linux OS on the 1F. Technically, I use my network storage server (NAS) to manage all my CNC project files and toolpath exports. This setup allows me to edit files either on my office desktop computer or my workbench laptop. Then, I simply go to the 1F, click the Open File button, and navigate to the same network folder to access my .ngc files.

One great feature of the BB controller is that it defaults to the last folder opened, making it quick and easy to find the toolpaths for any project I’m ready to carve.

Even if you don’t have a network storage server like mine, you can still edit and export files on any Windows computer you prefer and use the 1F to browse to them.

Here’s a link to some instructions I wrote a while back that should still be relevant:

How is this a nfs share? I would like something like this. Thinking about raid to protect costly files bought from etsy.

I use TrueNAS for my network storage server and have the “Windows Shares (SMB)” service enabled, pointing to a local path on the server. While TrueNAS does support the “NFS” protocol you mentioned, I am not currently using it.

Since my 1F used to pull from my office Windows computer, which uses the SMB protocol by default, I just enabled just the SMB shares on TrueNAS and it works fine.

After migrating the files to the NAS, I only needed to remap the linked folder on the 1F to the TrueNAS IP address.

Edit, I am using RAID on the TrueNAS, and for a real “backup” (remember 2 is 1 and 1 is none) I have a cheap old POS Dell laptop with an 8TB MyBook USB drive and another copy of TrueNAS and overnight replication job configured between them. Ideally, this second “backup” copy should be offsite, but I still need to work on that.
