regarding the speed with which electrons move through copper (=electricity), it is highly unlikely that this length makes a difference. A cable of the length of the Atlantic Ocean’s width would, though.

If I had such problems I would first check and ensure that your machine is

  1. rectangular (“squared”) (bar gauge) and 2. coplanar (“not twisted”) (fishing line method)?

If rectangularity and coplanarity are not perfect, the Y movement can block or have “hiccups” or loose its position reference coordinates.
