Onefinity CNC Firmware 1.2.1 (2/8/23) (X-35/X-50 machines w/ Buildbotics Controller) (Outdated)

Just wanted to confirm it was indeed the joystick controller being in the wrong mode. Thanks again for the assist. I was getting really annoyed with having to move the Z axis using the touch screen!

After loading a new tool path on the 1F, has anyone experienced the issue where the 1F runs a previously used tool path?

I am on 1.2.1 (refreshed from 1.2.0) and last week I was running two tool paths. One was a half inch hole that was a half in deep w a 1/4EM. The second tool path started at .5 (the bottom of the first hole) and made a deeper hole that was .289 in diameter. I was running these two tool paths for a piece of testing material that had a couple of different parameters. I changed material, re-loaded the 1st tool path (.5 hole) and it plunged and did the .289 hole. I instantly stopped and thought I had loaded the wrong tool path. I reloaded the correct tool path, ran it and it still was running the wrong tool path. I went back to the design computer, double checked the tool path and file name, etc… it was all correct. I finally powered off the 1F and when I ran the .5 hole tool path, it worked fine. I couldn’t take a video as there was not really a way to show it was running the wrong file as you can’t see the tool path on the 1F controller.

Curious if anyone else has had an issue with what seems like a stuck tool path in the memory?

When the wrong toolpath ran, did it show that name in the file? Or was the file it was showing a different file?

It showed the file name that I selected, in other words it showed the file name of the tool path that I wanted to run. When I pushed run, it then ran the other file while showing the file I selected.

Someone stated a long delay when pushing the play button. I experienced the same issue. I would hit play (run) and nothing seemed to happen to the point I selected it again. I bring it up as I wonder if the two are related to a memory issue.

How many files do you have in the drop down list on the controller when this happened?

Not many… I have around 10. I try to keep them cleaned out for easy sorting

I do load files both via USB or web browser interface depending if the 1F is turned on or not. I believe last week I loaded the files via remote web browser. But I always check to make sure the file is correctly selected when I am at the physical controller, and in this case I switched back and forth between files once I discovered the issue.

Are you using Fusion 360?

what did the gcode preview show? did it show what it was going to cut, or what it actually cut?

@Orthobill13 : Can you please help us with below information?

1.Which version did you upgrade from? Would it be possible to do fresh 1.2.1 version and see if the issue happens?
2. Is it happening every time? or once in a while?
3. Did you get a chance to see the Preview of the file when you selected? Is it showing the same one?
4. Is it G-Code Specific or any G-Code?
5. Is this issue happening only while upload a new file? or Changing the files from the dropdown? or both the cases?
6. If we were unable to replicate can you able to connect with us for quick log track and help us to fix the issue?

Hello and thanks for all of the questions.

  1. I had upgraded to 1.2.0. Then knowing that I needed to do a reflash when upgrading from any beta version, I pulled the sd card and did the reflash to 1.2.1.
  2. It only happened the one time when I was physically using the machine.
  3. It is funny you asked this question, as I also remember when I was uploading the files from my home computer where I can see the preview, that a couple of the files were also wrong on the preview. The job I was cutting was a series of long grooves and holes. I recall loading the hole file and saw grooves. I went back to vcarve pro and re-saved the groove and hole files, deleted the files from the 1F and uploaded the new files. At the time I thought I messed up and switched the naming of the files when I made them, but I am pretty sure I didn’t. Although I can’t be 100% sure on that. It was all during the same session this was happening.
  4. It seemed G-Code specific when it physically happened on the 1F. I was trying to load and run a shallow hole code and it was running the deep hole from prior use. I looked yesterday and saw that I had come back to the design computer and made a v2 and v3 hole program to load as I thought I had messed up, but each of those loads did not work. It was as if the G-code of the deep hole program was stuck in the system.
  5. In this instance, I was loading the new file remotely, going out to the shop and making sure the right file was selected.
  6. I would love to be able to help, but yesterday I reflashed to 1.0.9 as I needed to run a job and wan’t the security of the version I knew to be solid. However, I can do a fresh load of 1.2.1 and also remote load the files which I still have and see if I can duplicate the issue. I can try that later today and see if it duplicates.

no, I use vcarve pro

see my point 3. in the previous answer. At one point the preview was showing the wrong path.

Hi @Orthobill13 , thank you so much for your prompt response. Much appreciated. Can you please send us the Gcode if possible and please let us know your availability to discuss on this topic over the call? May be zoom or teams?

This is our first priority to fix the issue if it persists. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,
Dillesu.M

@DEV_D sure… where would you like the Gcode sent? Do you have an email you want me to email it to?

Also, I work from my home office, so I am generally pretty free for a Team call. I could do tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday other than 11 am through 1pm. I am EST time.

Hi @Orthobill13 , that’s sounds great. You can attach the Gcode here or you can send it to my personal email dillesu.munakala101@gmail.com. kindly let me know your email address to send the invite on our end. Much appreciated.

@DEV_D Email sent to your email address.

All - I want to say that the dev team has been incredibly responsive to this issue. We ran several files again on my machine and I can not get it to duplicate the issue. I did find an error I made, but at this point I can not be certain if it was post issue or was the issue, as it has been over a week ago when I made the files and I was very busy that day.

All that being said, my 1F has run perfectly at 1.2.1 through all of the re-running of the files, and the team was amazingly quick to respond. I am confident after all of my tests in the last 12 hours that I can not duplicate the issue. I love the 1F and team.

Thank you!

After re flashing my software to 1.2.1 I have been experiencing this. Sometimes when I open a program that I have posted from V-Carve 11.5 a random program opens and not the one that I have selected to open. It is always the same random program. The first time this happened I noticed the preview was not correct for the program that I opened so I selected my program from the pull down and this brought up the correct preview however not the correct program. Well this was a problem and messed up my carve. Has anyone else experienced this? This is reoccurring and happened again yesterday but now I know to look for this.

Hi @Jeffs , thanks for your feedback. Can you please help us to post the video which explains when it happened and scenario, so that we can try on our end and see if we can replicate the issue. If not, kindly help us to replicate the issue on your end. So that we will track the logs to understand the issue better.

Much appreciated. Thank you.
